Station area Neugraben

 A CLEAR DESTINATION

The redesign of the public space aims to reorganize the traffic and adjacent areas, as well as to renovate the areas along and under the pedestrian bridge. The focus is on revitalizing and making use of the adjacent spaces. Spaces for encounters, relaxation, and movement are intended to be designed. The currently confusing and neglected area is to become accessible and free of barriers and fears in the future, thus experiencing a significant improvement. By combining a transit area with a place for staying, a tangible and functional space is created, which is attractive to and welcoming for various user groups, such as commuters and residents, and has a positive impact on visitors to the Neugraben district.

...LEADS TO A CLEAR DESIGN

The design concept envisions creating functional areas along the outer areas of the buildings for both pedestrians and businesses. To establish identity and guide the way to the Neugraben Center, a pavement pattern is used for the walkways, which has already being used at the Neugraben Market Square and in the Passage. In the central area, which in some places also accommodates connections to the entrances of the pedestrian bridge, areas are to be developed that offer quality for staying and where one can step out of the straight path to linger. Group furnishings that are resistant to vandalism are planned. The clear definition of functional areas supports good spatial orientation.
