BID Passagenviertel

COMMON GOALS

The Business Improvement District (BID) model, a privately financed redevelopment measure in public spaces, originated in the United States but has already proven itself as a method for enhancing public spaces in Hamburg. However, it is more than that. The search for a common identity, dialogue, and internection among different stakeholders, as well as collaborative marketing, strengthen each individual and build bridges towards the formation of a community.

UNITY IN DIVERSITY

The streets Große Bleichen and Poststraße are located in the heart of Hamburg's city center, right in the midst of the established BIDs like Neuer Wall and Hohe Bleichen. With its passageways running perpendicular to the street network, this area offers a unique spatial quality. High-quality surfaces made of bright granite and low curbs integrate the roadway into a street-encompassing public space. The vibrant diversity of the passageways is reflected in the outdoor space, promoting a connection between the outdoors and indoors.
